ReHash #163.5

Hash No. 163.5 was held Monday, July 31 at 7:00 pm in honor of the birthday of A.S. Gispert, known as "G", who is generally recognized as the founder of modern day hashing. He was a British army officer serving in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia when he and a group of friends formalized the hashing routine in 1938. He was born in 1903 and died in action while serving with the Federated Malay States Volunteer Force in 1942.

Hares: Butthole Surfer and Hot Tub Slut. The pack, consisting of Body Fluid Hazard, Damaged Goods, Finger Lickin' Good, Golden Showers, Gourmet, Nipple Rash, Poo Packer, Pork My Tits, Smegma, Sucks But Doesn't Swallow, The Guy Who Makes The Dog Come and Tight Sphincter assembled in Hyde Park Square, at the fountain, and at 7:20 the hares gave their instructions as to marks for the pack. The hares were off at 7:20ish, and Smegma led the pack in "Father Abraham", and the pack was off at 7:30ish, in hot pursuit. Trail led east on Erie Avenue, to a BC at St. Charles, with true trail HEADing north on Shaw. A check at Victoria temporarily slowed the FRBs, but true trail was found continuing on Shaw to a railroad check at the tracks on Wasson. Trail turned west along Wasson, to Edwards, then crossed Madison to the tracks at the Blue Moon Saloon, and continued for what seemed like a very long time to the railroad overpass at Grovedale Avenue. Some of the pack continued on for what seemed like another very long time, eventually rejoining trail at Dana. True trail descended from the railroad to Grovedale, and despite "BN" marks on the ground and the wall, the first beer near was missed by all. Trail then headed east on Grovedale to a BC at Kendall, across private property to Villa Lane, then across Kendall Avenue and into the parking lot at Withrow High School. A check led to the front of the school and the length of the front yard, under the archway, up a path to Madison Road, then to a check at Madison and Dana. Trail went west to a BC under the overhead walkway across Madison, and backchecking found trail across Madison, heading up Ivy Avenue. Another check led the pack east on Vista Avenue, to the parking lot at the Madison House, then south on Madison to Easthill. Following Easthill to a check at Pogue, the pack went south to a BC at Paul, and backchecking found true trail going through the gate into the Academy of World Languages School, down steps and through the playground, to the second beer near, which was not missed. After refreshments the pack, now thinned noticeably, headed around the back of the school and across the playfield, up steps and out to Evanston Avenue, then up Mallory Ct. where the neighborhood dogs were awakened. A check at Burke led to Fairfax Avenue, then down a path and into Owls Nest Park and the shelterhouse, where the hares awaited. Eventually most of the pack found its way there, excepting only Golden Showers, who had gotten off trail early on and finally, after a valiant effort, returned to his car, eventually meeting the pack at O'Bryon's for the on-on-on. "Here's to the Hares" was sung to the hares, with down downs, then a purported hare crime for the pack missing the first beer near was drunk to by the hares, followed by various other crimes for latecummers, mother-given names, lack of whistles, and the usual. Analversaries were observed by Nipple Rash (40) BFH (130) and Golden Showers (15), in absentia.
